Charity Concert 2022

Kwong Wai Shiu’s “The Gift of Love” Charity Concert was held on 29 May 2022 at the Drama Centre Theatre. As the local Covid-19 situation improves and safe distancing measures were eased, the annual concert of KWSH resumed its pre-pandemic glory to welcome close to 500 guests, among them our guest of honour, Minister for Culture, Community and Youth and Second Minister for Law, Mr Edwin Tong.

Also in attendance to support the fundraiser was special guest, Mr Sitoh Yih Pin, MP for Potong Pasir, as KWSH’s Chairman Patrick Lee shared at the concert the welcome news of the commencement of our second nursing home. This latest facility, Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital @ Potong Pasir, had recently began operations last month.

Well-known local artiste Liu Ling Ling entertained as the main act, with Ding Yi Music Company providing the accompanying music to the delightful Cantonese and Mandarin classics. Her sister Angie Lau took the stage as a supporting act and together, they blew the audience away with their performances. The concert’s line-up also included local Cantopop star Jason Chung, while Ong Jun Ming Gary from the Cantonese Opera Troupe added further glamour to the night with his presentation of the traditional art form. Our distinguished Minister and MP lent their voices to the good cause too as they belted out the finale song together with the performers to the rousing ovation of the audience.

The charity concert would not be made possible without our kind sponsors and donors. KWSH is truly grateful for the tremendous support received and the funds will certainly go a long way in serving the needy elderly as we continue to extend our reach to the community.
