Enhancing Work Processes as New Book on Workplace Learning Featuring KWSH Unveiled

KWSH is honoured to have been featured in a new book published by the Singapore Institute of Technology! Titled The Learning Enterprise, the book features KWSH as one of the first four local organisations in workplace learning and lean transformation, and illustrates how our nursing team successfully improved the management of patients’ bathing process during the morning shift. This was achieved through the team’s application of lean tools, which cut down the bathing time of patients and allowed nurses to work on other value-added tasks.

KWSH Established as the First Queen Bee in Singapore’s Community Care Sector

KWSH is now a SkillsFuture Queen Bee company – the first in Singapore’s community care sector. This was officially established through a memorandum of understanding that was inked on 13 November 2020 between KWSH, SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) and Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT). The signing ceremony was witnessed by guest of honour, Education Minister Mr Lawrence Wong.

Mid-Autumn Light-Up 2020

While the coronavirus may have put a halt to our annual Mid-Autumn Festival celebration event, KWSH continued with our tradition to light up the Hospital premises with lanterns sponsored by our donors.

With hundreds of lanterns lining the KWSH compound, a simple light-up ceremony was held on 19 September 2020 as we ushered in the eighth lunar month. While it was not to be our customary large scale celebratory event due to the various Covid-19 and safe distancing measures, this year’s festival of reunion was celebrated in an equally meaningful fashion.

KWSH Nurses’ Day 2020

The annual KWSH Nurses’ Day had always been associated with lots of hype each year with our nursing colleagues gathered in the MPH for high-octane performances put up for as well as by the nurses. This year however, with the pandemic wreaking havoc to any plans for a grand celebration akin to past years, the Hospital took a heart-warming, albeit much more muted, approach to show our appreciation for the nurses on 28 August.
