Executive Committee
The Executive Committee (EXCO) assists the Board to ensure the hospital is well-managed and fulfils its objectives. The EXCO provides leadership and guidance to the Top Management, decides on policies and strategic plans. The EXCO also controls the finance, monitors the performance of the hospital and makes recommendations to the Board on future development of the hospital.
Mr Tang Kin Fei is the Chairman of KWSH.
On the corporate front, Mr Tang is concurrently Chairman and an Independent Director of SIA Engineering Company Ltd, Chairman of Singapore LNG Corporation Pte Ltd, as well as the Non-Executive and Non-Independent Director and Board Chairman of Manhattan Resources Ltd. He is also a Board Member/Director of Summit Power International Limited and the Singapore Cooperation Enterprise, and an Honorary Council Member of the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
Mr Tang was previously the Group President & CEO of Sembcorp Industries Ltd, where he devoted close to 30 years of his career and has been credited with spearheading its growth into a focused energy, water and marine group, with operations across six continents. For his vision, drive, entrepreneurial spirit and exemplary contributions to the energy sector, Mr Tang was conferred the Singapore Energy Award (SEA) in 2017. Additionally, Mr Tang also previously served as a Board member at International Enterprise (IE) Singapore, as Vice Chairman of the Singapore Business Federation’s Council, and on several China-Singapore and Middle East-Singapore business councils.
Beyond the corporate realm, he was formerly a Board Member of the National Research Foundation (NRF), Advisor to the NRF’s Urban Solutions & Sustainability Directorate (NRF USS), and Chairman of the USS Integrated Programme office. He also served as a Member of the Defence Science & Technology Board and Climate Change Network, and Chairman of the College Advisory Board of Nanyang Technological University.
Mr Tang was conferred the Public Service Medal (PBM) in 2020 for his contributions to the public service.

Mr Ng Siew Quan is the Deputy Chairman of KWSH and Chairman of Nomination Committee.
On the corporate front, Mr Ng is a Partner at PwC Singapore.
Mr Ng is the Corporate Governance Leader of PwC Singapore. With more than 30 years of experience in the auditing profession, he has led internal audit and risk management engagements for a number of corporate entities from the private and public sectors in Singapore. He has successfully implemented Enterprise Risk Management and Control Self Assessment (CSA) in some of the largest corporations in Singapore, and was involved in the investigation of various high profile fraud cases.
Mr Ng is concurrently the Asia Pacific leader of the Entrepreneurial and Private Clients (EPC) market segment, leading in the provision of integrated business solutions to owner-led and family businesses. Building on strong knowledge in Corporate Governance and Family Governance, he has spearheaded the mitigation of risks and preservation of business harmony for families and entrepreneurs.
Mr Ng is a Fellow of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants as well as a Fellow of the Singapore Institute of Directors. He is active in the Chinese community and the cultural arena. He is on the Council of Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Singapore Federation of Chinese Clan Associations, Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre and Chinese Development Assistance Council. He is also the Chairman of the Singapore Chinese Orchestra and Chairman of Yangzheng Primary School, School Advisory Committee.

Dr Cheong Wai Kwong is the Vice Chairman of KWSH and Chairman of Medical Advisory Committee.
Dr Cheong has been practising Dermatology since 1986 in various hospitals including the National Skin Centre in Singapore, and in the St John’s Dermatology Centre in London before going into private practice at the Specialist Skin Clinic in 1995. He is currently director of the Specialist Skin Clinic and Associates, Singapore, a group practice of dermatologists in the private sector.
He trained at the St John’s Dermatology Centre, London in cutaneous photobiology (the study of biological effects of sunlight on the skin) and phototherapy (the use of ultraviolet radiation to treat skin conditions).
He is a past President of the Dermatological Society of Singapore (2000-2005). He has chaired numerous regional advisory boards on common skin conditions. Most recently, he co-chaired the Singapore psoriatic arthritis virtual advisory board in February 2021 and chaired a regional scientific task force on managing allergy in May 2021.
An accomplished dermatologist in Singapore, Dr Cheong lectures extensively on common skin conditions both locally and regionally. He is a frequent speaker at regional and global dermatological conferences, one of which was the recent 24th World Congress of Dermatology Milan 2019. He has conducted advanced workshops for dermatologists and general practitioners in the region including Taiwan, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore.

Mr Leong Sin Yuen, William is the Vice Chairman of KWSH and Chairman of Fundraising Committee.
On the corporate front, Mr Leong is the Executive Director of Leung Yun Chee & Sons Realty Pte Ltd, an affiliate of Leung Kai Fook Medical Co Pte Ltd.
Mr Leong is a practising electrical engineer registered with the Professional Engineers’ Board, Singapore. Prior to joining his family business, he held senior positions as a Consultant Engineer with Brown and Root (S) Pte Ltd, CPG Consultants, Meinhardt (S) Pte Ltd and Surbana Jurong Group.
Mr Leong’s family has made significant contributions to KWSH over the years. His father and grandfather served as Chairman of the Board from 1985 to 2011 and 1965 to 1970 respectively.
Besides KWSH, Mr Leong is a serving Board Member for Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre, Council Member for Singapore Federation of Chinese Clan Associations, Honorary Treasurer for St John Singapore, Vice-Chairman for Singapore Clan Foundation, Chairman for School Advisory Committee, Nan Hua High School, and Trustee for the Chinese Development Assistance Council.

Mr Lau Kam Yuen is the Treasurer of KWSH and Chairman of Finance Committee.
On the corporate front, Mr Lau is a Partner at KPMG LLP, Singapore.
Mr Lau is currently leading the Risk Consulting practice in KPMG Singapore. He is a Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants and a Public Accountant in Singapore. He has close to 30 years of experience providing audit and business advisory services to listed and non-listed companies, local and multinational clients spanning across various industries while with KPMG Singapore, United States and Malaysia.
Beyond the corporate realm, Mr Lau devotes time to serve the charity and non-for-profit sector in the areas of art, healthcare and education. Mr Lau is the Vice Chairman of Assumption Pathway School and Ding Yi Music Company. He is also a Board Member in St. Joseph's Institution, St. Gabriel's Foundation and Chua Foundation. Prior to this, he had served as a Board member at the Singapore Chinese Orchestra.

Mr Hoong Kong Fatt is the Chairman of Audit Committee.
Mr Hoong is a Fellow Chartered Accountant of Singapore, Fellow Chartered Financial Practitioner, Fellow Chartered and Certified Accountant (ACCA), Fellow Member (CPA Australia) and an Accredited Tax Advisor (Income Tax and GST). Mr Hoong has 41 years in practice.
Mr Hoong is the President of Singapore Tung On Wui Kun and Treasurer of Singapore Kwangtung Hui Kuan.

Ms Leong Lai Onn, Susan is the Chairman of Human Resource Committee.
Ms Leong was a senior partner at Yeo-Leong & Peh (the predecessor of Adsan Law LLC), which was established in 1987 before becoming its Senior Director when the firm converted to an LLC in April 2002. She was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Adsan Law LLC on 1 July 2020.
Ms Leong graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1986 and was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in 1987. She is also on the Roll of Solicitors in England and Wales. She is a fellow of the Insolvency Association of Singapore Limited (IPAS). She is also a Commissioner for Oaths and a member of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators.
Ms Leong has experience in both commercial and civil litigation. She is mainly responsible for managing and organizing the systems and processes for loan recovery of local and foreign banks and financial institutions. She advises major financial institutions on all aspects of banking litigation and insolvency. Ms Leong also advises financial institutions on various issues involving fraud, compliance, risk management, bank documentation and product development. She has also spoken widely on banking topics and conducted seminars for financial institutions.
In addition, Ms Leong oversees the Private Clients Practice Group. She has experience in matrimonial disputes, estate and trust planning and advises clients on all aspects of family law. Ms Leong has extensive experience in advising charities on charity law, compliance, restructuring and also provides pro bono services to several charities.
Ms Leong serves as the Vice Chairman and one of the founding directors of Jazz Association (Singapore). She also sits on the board of Singapore Chinese Orchestra and is a mentor of the Young Women’s Leadership Connection.
Mr Kwong Kin Mun is the Chairman of Investment Committee.
Mr Kwong holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree (majoring in Economics and Sociology) from the National University of Singapore.
On the corporate front, Mr Kwong spent more than 35 years in the financial industry. He was Head of Deutsche Bank South-East Asia Wealth Management till end 2020. Prior to joining Deutsche Bank in 2009, Mr Kwong was the South Asia Private Banking head of DBS Bank. Mr Kwong previously held senior private banking positions at Citigroup Private Bank, Standard Chartered Bank and UBS Wealth Management. He also had experience as a Financial Consultant at Merrill Lynch.
Mr Wong Chee Herng is the Chairman of Land & Estate Committee.
On the corporate front, Mr Wong is the Group Managing Director & CEO of Straits Construction Group Pte Ltd. He is also the Vice Chairman of the Youth Business Affairs and Sustainability Committee at the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
He also serves as an Independent Trustee on the Migrant Workers’ Assistance Fund.
Mr Robert Chew is the Chairman of IT & ESG Committee.
Mr Chew is currently a director of iGlobe Platinum Fund II and iGlobe Advisors, and serves on the boards of tech companies – Assurity (Chairman), CloudSine, and Hyperscal Solutions. He is also a Fellow of the Singapore Institute of Directors and the Singapore Computer Society (SCS). For his contributions to the IT industry, Mr Chew was inducted into SCS’ Hall of Fame in 2016 and awarded IT Leader of the Year in 2009.
Mr Chew is a board member of several non-profit organisations such as Shared Services for Charities, Singapore Hospice Council (Chairman), Tan Kah Kee Foundation and WeCare. He was previously a partner in Accenture.
Mr Chew was conferred the Public Service Medal in 2013 and the Public Service Star in 2017.

Dr Wong Chiang Yin is the Chairman of Medifund Committee.
A public health specialist physician by training, Dr Wong is part-time Senior Consultant to Ministry of Health (MOH), Singapore (Primary and Continuing Care). He is also Advisor to Ministry of Health Holdings, Singapore (MOHH) as well as Advisor to National University Hospital System for Healthier SG.
He had previously been Group CEO of three publicly-listed companies in the healthcare sector: Thomson Medical Group (listed on SGX), Cordlife Group Limited (listed on SGX) and TMC Life Sciences Berhad (listed on Bursa, Malaysia). Before that, he was the CEO of Pantai Hospitals Berhad, one of the largest private hospital groups in Malaysia.
From 2000 to 2008, Dr Wong held various positions in the public sector, including Chief Operating Officer of Changi General Hospital and Singapore General Hospital and Director of Projects Office of SingHealth. Prior to this, he worked in MOH.
He has been an elected member of the Singapore Medical Council since 2020. He has also been an elected Council Member of the Singapore Medical Association since 1995 and was its President from 2006 to 2009.
Dr Wong was elected Council Member/Censor of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore (AMS) from 2009 to 2021 and was its Scribe and Assistant Master (Administrative Affairs) from 2019 to 2020 and 2020 to 2021 respectively. He had been elected as Council Member again in June 2023 and is the current Master (Administrative Affairs) of AMS.
Dr Wong is a member of the Board of Governors of Anglo-Chinese School, his alma mater, and sits on the Board of National Healthcare Group. His experience also includes independent directorships on the boards of SGX-listed companies such as RHT Health Trust (2019-present) and Beng Kuang Marine Limited (2004-2019).
Dr Wong was conferred both the Public Service Star (BBM) and the Public Service Medal (PBM) (Covid-19) in 2022.

Board
Set Up
The Board as the highest policy making and governing body of KWSH is ultimately responsible for the proper running of the organisation. The Board has the primary duty and responsibility to ensure good governance and management for the effective performance and operation of the KWSH.
The Board members are volunteers of good character who are willing and competent to serve and contribute effectively to achieve the objectives of KWSH. They shall serve without remuneration for their voluntary service to KWSH so as to maintain the integrity of serving for public trust and community good instead of personal gain.
The Board members will serve a term of three years. The term limit for the position of Treasurer is four (4) years.
The Board shall provide appropriate orientation and training for new directors appointed to the Board.
All Board members are also encouraged to be updated in areas of practices and governance, where training grants are provided to them.

Board Nomination and Renewal
KWSH recognises the importance of having a qualified and competent Board to achieve the mission and vision of KWSH. KWSH believes that a Board that possesses a balance of skill set, experience, expertise and diversity of perspectives enhances decision-making capability and the overall effectiveness of the Board. The Board is committed to ensuring that proper nomination and election processes are in place for the selection and nomination of Directors.
A Nomination Committee will review and interview the candidates, before submitting the shortlisted candidates to the Executive Committee (EXCO) for approval. Upon approval, the selected candidates will be inducted into the Board and committee(s) where applicable. The renomination and reappointment of Board members follow the same rigorous process.
