KWSH held our second Mid-Autumn celebration on 14 September 2024 at our Potong Pasir nursing home premises, and our donors and partners were invited to share the joyous occasion with our nursing home residents and other community elderlies.

Free Dental Services for Nursing Home Residents Announced as KWSH Counts Down to Mid-Autumn 2024

The KWSH premises was all geared up for the occasion with the 10-day countdown to Mid-Autumn Festival. On the evening of 7 September, the Kwong Wai Shiu family – our Board members, management, staff, partners, donors, volunteers, nursing home residents and community clients – came together at our Serangoon Road main site to celebrate this festival of reunion.

From Care Centre To Centre Stage: Rehab Client Performs at KWSH Charity Concert

It was truly a collective effort at this year’s KWSH “Melodies of Hope” Charity Concert on 26 July 2024 as our rehabilitation client, KWSH CEO, Board members and the Minister all took to the stage to do their part for the annual fundraiser held at the historic Victoria Concert Hall.

KWSH Charity Golf 2024

Our annual golf fundraiser returned to Sentosa Golf Club for the second year running on 8 May. The beautiful island of Sentosa provided the perfect backdrop for the golf fundraiser as we celebrate the beauty of our sponsors’ and donors’ giving hearts. About 140 golfers took to the Tanjong Course for a friendly tournament as the event raised $413,000. Among the golfers was Mr Lim Boon Heng, Chairman of Temasek Holdings, and the guest of honour also presented tokens of appreciation to our event sponsors at the post-golf dinner.

Unprecedented Support for Community Care Day

KWSH held our annual health carnival, the Community Care Day, on 23 March as seniors residing in the nearby vicinities were invited for the complimentary health screenings. This year, we had 10 healthcare and eldercare organisations on board, a record number at the annual event, to conduct health screenings and offer health tips to the participants alongside Kwong Wai Shiu’s very own TCM physicians and active ageing team. Our nursing home residents also participated in the carnival where the elderly participants were treated to energetic on-stage performances as well as a morning of fun games and yummy treats.

Record-High 77 KWSH Staff Recognised at Singapore Health Quality Service Awards 2024

Organised by the SingHealth Duke-NUS Academic Medical Centre, the annual SHQSA recognises the exemplary efforts of healthcare professionals in delivering excellent service to patients. The 2024 Awards also marked the highest number of awards we received since its inception in 2011, with the Hospital bagging 17 Gold and 60 Silver awards. Accorded to both staff who helm the frontline as well as those ensuring smooth management of backend operations, the awards are a strong affirmation of the Hospital’s unified dedication and commitment to continually improve our care standards.
