Governance Evaluation

Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital declares our compliance with the Code of Governance for Charities and Institutions of a Public Character through the Charity Portal on an annual basis.

In addition, the Board conducts periodic self-evaluation to assess its performance and effectiveness, ensuring continual improvement in leadership and oversight.

All board members, staff, and volunteers are expected to avoid situations where personal interests may conflict with their responsibilities to the organisation. We have clear policies and procedures in place to identify, disclose, and manage any potential conflicts of interest, ensuring that all decisions are made in the best interests of our clients and the wider community we serve.

Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital upholds the utmost standards of transparency, probity and accountability. In line with this commitment, a Whistleblowing Policy is in place to provide employees and external parties with a channel to raise genuine concerns about any aspects of operations, including serious compliance breaches by staff.

To facilitate the appropriate follow-up and commence investigation, we would like to encourage whistleblowers to identify themselves and leave contact details (e.g. email, phone number). Whistleblowers will be protected from any reprisal or victimisation, and their reports and identities will be kept confidential. They will also receive information about the outcomes of any investigations where appropriate. Concerns expressed anonymously will be handled at the Audit Committee’s discretion.
