Course Objectives
In Jan 2022, MOH had announced that interRAI will be implemented for standardised care assessment in the Nursing Home, Center Based-Care and Home Care services.
For Care Planning: Service providers to adopt interRAI instrument for clients’ initial assessment and 6-monthly review to develop care plan.
InterRAI Long Term Care Facilities (LTCF) is a comprehensive, standardized assessment for evaluating the needs, strengths, and preferences of persons in nursing home residential care. This course will enable nursing home staff to become competent interRAI LTCF assessors.
Skills and competencies that will be addressed:
At the end of the course, the learner will be able to:
1. Acquire observation and interviewing skills to accurately code answers on interRAI LTCF
2. Conduct, understand, complete, and interpret the LTCF assessment
3. Practice conducting assessments via practicum and discussion
4. Conduct assessments with actual clients to assess cases using InterRAI LTCF
5. Interpret outcome scales and clinical assessment protocols (CAPs) generated to design a suitable care plan to meet the needs of the nursing home client
