KWSH Volunteers Appreciation Dinner 2018
It was a night of colour and style for our volunteers on 8 December 2018. More than 200 of our committed volunteers, including our KWSH Chairman, Mr Patrick Lee, and the other Board members, let their hair down and had a great time at the annual Volunteers Appreciation Dinner. They were treated to a delectable meal and fun-filled entertainment as we expressed our profound appreciation to Kwong Wai Shiu’s valued volunteers for their indefatigable contributions to KWSH and our residents over the past year.
The commitment and ardor of our volunteers have always been fundamental to the development and progress of KWSH. The volunteers’ undying enthusiasm complements the Hospital’s wish to continue to work hand in hand with them to benefit more needy elderly as KWSH expands our services and extends our network of care to the community.
Even more noteworthy is the unwearied disposition of the silver volunteers despite their age. As the saying goes, “age is but a number” – the core essence lies in the motivation and enthusiasm to lend a hand at our KWSH activities for our residents. Our silver volunteers are indeed a true testimony of living life to the fullest! A highlight of the evening was when we honoured the “pioneer generation” volunteers aged 80 and above with gift tokens for their unyielding spirit, energy and commitment. Kudos to all of them!
A total of 16 volunteers also received the Long Service Award at the dinner. Chairman Patrick Lee commended all our volunteers for their selfless contributions and presented the awards to the long-serving volunteers for their milestones of service to KWSH. Having joined us for two decades, Mdm Ong Joon Hong, who is the longest serving volunteer amongst the Long Service Award recipients this year, shared, “It is really an honour to receive this award. It gives me great joy and fulfillment serving the elderly of KWSH for the last 20 years.”
KWSH is deeply appreciative to all our selfless volunteers for their exemplary work in serving our elderly. As we look forward to another exciting year together with them, here’s a big THANK YOU to all our volunteers!
