New Mission and Vision Launched as KWSH Celebrates Nurses’ Day 2018

KWSH celebrated Nurses’ Day on 1 August 2018 at the Multi-Purpose Hall of our nursing home building. Board members including Chairman Patrick Lee joined our management team and staff to celebrate this joyous occasion. It was a heart-warming moment when our residents presented their mini hampers to the Nightingales to show their gratitude for the nurses’ dedication to their profession. In turn, a few groups of nurses took turns to perform for the audience in a dance competition, wowing the crowd with their dazzling dance moves. The team “Range of Motion Dancers”, made up of nurses from Ward 5 and Ward 6, was the eventual winner, and the crowd showed their appreciation with a rousing ovation.

Along with a cake-cutting ceremony to mark this special day, Chairman Patrick Lee and CEO, Dr Ow Chee Chung, also jointly unveiled our new mission and vision statements. With the major redevelopment at KWSH’s main site completed and as the Hospital extends our services to the community with the setting up of various community facilities, the new mission “To provide Quality, Comprehensive and Convenient healthcare services to the needy in Singapore” and the new vision “To be a Leading Community Healthcare Hub in Singapore” signals our commitment to transform ourselves into a community healthcare hub for the region as we seek to do more for the people.

Quality Festival 2018
KWSH also celebrated our Quality Festival in conjunction with Nurses’ Day to renew our efforts in improving our patient care, services and operations. 29 quality improvement projects were carried out by the staff and posters showcasing the projects were exhibited at the MPH for the Quality Festival.

With a new mission and a new vision, it is the dawn of a new era for KWSH and we look forward to the next 100 years with more exciting developments ahead of us as we continue to provide quality and affordable healthcare services to the community.
