Promoting Hand Hygiene in KWSH
Keeping our hands clean is one of the most effective ways to prevent the spread of infection and illness at home and at work. In the healthcare setting, where there are vulnerable patients, hand hygiene is an important practice to follow closely.
On 29 May 2015, KWSH celebrated the Hand Hygiene Day with a simple event that showcased the importance of hand hygiene to all the staff. The audience witnessed the superb talent of the healthcare staff who formed several teams to present their creatively choreographed dance performances. The 8 steps to the correct way of hand washing were also demonstrated in the performances.
“Today we are celebrating three occasions – promoting Hand Hygiene in our nursing home; opening of the Staff Wellness Corner; and supporting ‘Eat with your family Day’. Let’s enjoy the celebration and do find time to have dinner with your family with hands thoroughly cleaned. ” said Dr Ow Chee Chung, CEO of KWSH.
It was indeed a meaningful and enjoyable event. We all walked away with a timely reminder about the importance of hand hygiene.
