KWSH Celebrates 112th Anniversary as Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital @ Potong Pasir Officially Opened

Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital celebrated its 112^th Anniversary on 1 October 2022. This year’s anniversary celebration was particularly significant as it coincided with the official opening of our second nursing home, KWSH @ Potong Pasir. Over 100 guests joined in the celebration alongside Mr Sitoh Yih Pin, Member of Parliament for Potong Pasir SMC, and other community leaders from the constituency. Our greatest pleasure was to have the Minister for Health, Mr Ong Ye Kung, grace the special occasion as our guest of honor.

The event kicked off with a collaborated performance by students of St Andrew’s Secondary School and residents of KWSH @ Potong Pasir. The main highlight of the event was the official opening ceremony of our new Potong Pasir nursing home. The opening of the new facility was commemorated by a plaque signed by Minister Ong, which will be featured on our mural wall. The Minister was then invited to tour the new nursing home premises, where he visited the iconic KWSH pavilion, Senior Care Centre, Traditional Chinese Medicine Centre, as well as a nursing home ward.

The success that the Hospital celebrates today would not have been possible without the commitment of our Board of Directors and strong support from our donors, whose support and contributions are instrumental to KWSH’s continued success. Minister Ong presented tokens of appreciation to our major donors on behalf of the Hospital and KWSH would like to express our sincere appreciation and gratitude to all our donors throughout the years. Committed we shall remain as we continue to serve the community for the years to come.
