Charity Concert 2015

KWSH Charity Concert 2015 – 爱心满院慈善音乐会 was held on 17 April 2015 as part of KWSH’s efforts to fundraise for the nursing home and its redevelopment project. Gracing the event was Dr Lam Pin Min, Minister of State for Health.

KWSH was honoured to have Singapore’s famous Broadway Beng – Sebastian Tan as the Vocal and and the internationally acclaimed Mr Tsung Yeh as the Music Director for the magnificent concert.  The audience enjoyed an evening of superb orchestra music and a variety of evergreen songs in Mandarin, English, Hokkien and Cantonese. Everyone was especially enthralled by Sebastian’s Mix Mesh Medley, made up of almost 30 songs in different languages and dialects, and the Cantonese hit《海阔天空》, which was favoured by the audience.

The evening ended on a cheery note with a group singing led by Guest-of-Honour Dr Lam, KWSH Chairman Patrick Lee, the Concert Organising Committee Chairman Ms Terene Seow and Sebastian Tan. Joined by the audience, they belted out the immensely popular Hokkien song 《爱拼才会赢》, leaving everyone in an exuberant spirit.

We appreciate the kind generosity of all the donors. We are also thankful to the organizing committee and the staff of the Fundraising Department for the all the hard work in making this event a great success. The total amount raised from the concert was around S$800K.

The funds will go towards benefitting the needy elderly at KWSH. We hope more will continue to embrace the spirit of giving and come forward to contribute in their own ways, which can be through the gift of donations, time or expertise.
